About Your Opportunity:
Responsible to measure, inspect, update and document property boundaries using specialized equipment.  Gather information and provide precise measurements, and/or create digital maps and detailed reports.  Ability to align and straighten formwork relating to concrete frame, floor and wall construction and site curb and sidewalk.  Responsible to perform boundary, topographical, utilities surveying and construction stake out.


How You’ll Contribute:
  • Examine land boundaries and property lines by researching land records, legal descriptions, survey records, land titles and other documentation.
  • Utilize surveying instruments to measure distances accurately.
  • Prepares reports for official property boundaries on leases, deeds, plots, and legal documents.
  • Perform layout work, check as-built conditions, and stake out clearing boundaries and reference points on site.
  • Survey the site to collect information and precise measurements on geographical, hydrographic, and topographic features.
  • Create digital maps and reports using technology systems
  • Interface with project managers to develop detailed design documentation
  • Strip and clean concrete formwork
  • Spread concrete during placement using rakes and shovels
  • Transport concrete using physical means and equipment
  • Removal of concrete utilizing saws and jackhammers
  • Clean up concrete spoils and concrete equipment
  • Set concrete formwork
  • Place and fasten concrete reinforcing by use of tie wire.
  • Remove formwork from previously finished surfaces.
  • Rake and shovel stone/concrete
  • Install various concrete accessories
  • Collaborate with team members
  • Work in a safe and organized manner
  • Operate concrete screeds
  • Maintain bench elevation for screed work
  • Tool joints and edges as required
  • Finishing concrete surfaces
  • Operate 3 foot and 4 foot trowel machines
  • Install anchor bolts and steel plates
  • Polishing surfaces to provide the appropriate surface as required
  • Applying hardening and sealing compounds
  • Operate 6 and 8 foot ride on trowel machines
  • Layout for sawcut
  • Operate saw cut machine
  • Layout and Install ADA Mats





Qualifications:
  • 4 years of construction experience
  • 2 years’ experience as a construction surveyor/land surveyor
  • Do you need a license?
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of surveying, mapmaking and the methods, principals and practices of surveying
  • Knowledge of basic concrete tools and equipment
  • Employee is expected to supply on his/her own and possess at work certain tools, a list of which will be provided by LV Concrete
  • Valid driver licenses
  • Excellent time management, problem-solving, and communication skills
     

Machines/Tools/Equipment:
Carry out tasks utilizing hand tools including the following: shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, drills, floats, trowels, brooms, etc. Carry out tasks utilizing power equipment including the following: jack hammers, skid loaders, chipping guns, motorized wheelbarrows, concrete pumps, etc.


Working Conditions:
Work is primarily outdoors with occasional indoor construction. Work shifts may involve long hours and night shifts. Some work may include elevated workstations several stories above ground or work several stories below ground. Minimal out of town work may be required.

In a normal day, this position requires little to no sitting. In a normal day, the employee must be able to stand for 7+ hours.  In a normal day, the employee must be able to walk 4-6 hours and drive 1-4 hours. Employee must be able to lift/carry up to 75 lbs. maximum; frequently lift/carry up to 50lbs.  In this position the employee must be able to use his/her upper extremities for repetitive simple grasping, pushing/pulling and fine manipulation. In this position, employee continuously (67-100%) must be able to bend at waist and squat the knees. Employee will frequently (34-66%) climb (including ladders), reach above shoulders and kneel. Employee will occasionally (0-33%) crawl, use feet (foot controls), and/or work at heights above 6 feet.
