About Your Opportunity:
As a Project Engineer, you will be supporting the Project Team(s).  This role provides the foundation for a career in construction and is often a role that develops into Project Management, or other Leadership Roles in the industry. 
You will provide critical support to ensure that the construction project(s) run on time, within budget, complying with safety standards and resolving site issues promptly.  You will also ensure subcontractor schedules are in sync, complete change orders, document RFI's, manage drawings, and aid in the management and coordination of all field staff, subcontractors, vendors, and activities.  
How You’ll Contribute 
Procure materials and services, then manage orders to ensure that all supplies fit the parameters of a project. Ensure prompt delivery of materials and services by communicating with vendors on the status of critical orders and eliminating difficulties and delays. You will help ensure all paperwork is in place on projects you are assigned to.

Duties/Responsibilities:
•    Maintains records of materials that have been ordered and corresponding shipping dates.
•    Identify suppliers of goods and services.
•    Liaise with suppliers and project managers regarding updates and details of orders.
•    Analyze invoices to ensure accuracy of materials delivered.
•    Work closely with the projects team to understand details of procurement requirements
•    Confirms shipping dates with vendors.
•    Contact external partners to obtain correct complete required paperwork. 
•    Handle accounting elements of the Project including processing invoices, join checks, stored materials or assigning phases.
•    Monitors shipping notices to avoid potential problems with deliveries.
•    Reports major shipping problems to project manager.
•    Maintains business relationships with suppliers to ensure their assistance if an unexpected event requires expedited shipping of an order.
•    Performs other related duties as assigned.
•    Collect, review and process Submittal and RFI project documentation and distribute to appropriate partners.
•    Compose or transcribe meeting minutes, interoffice memos, and format correspondence to clients, vendors, subcontractors, government agencies, and other partners.
•    Set-up and maintain manual and electronic filing systems per LV Concrete standards.
•    Assist with the preparation, distribution, and monitoring of project billings (draws) through to completion.
•    Organize and manage both digital and physical drawings. Keep drawings up to date. 
•    Activate and maintain accurate project files including logs for AIA change orders, pending change orders, permits, submittals, RFI’s, distribute material orders, timesheets, daily logs, purchase orders, incident reports, and field files.
•    Assist the Project Manager to develop, monitor, and update the project schedule and manage the project.
•    Maintain close-out documents for project completion (i.e., Warranty Letters/Winter Letters.)
•    Ensure Safety is never compromised; communicate the project safety program and participate in conducting safety inspections. 
•    Help interpret drawings, specifications and maintaining as-built documents. 
•    Review the contract documents to provide a good working knowledge of LV Concrete’s scope of work and that of all Subcontractors. 
•    Partner with the project team to prepare final as-built drawings showing project revisions, sketches, and notes. 
•    Assist the project team with the verification of additional work performed by subcontractors. 
•    Prepare and distribute punch lists for incomplete or deficient work and have all deficient work corrected before the final inspection by the project architect or other consultants. 
•    Receive and distribute owner punch lists to LV Concrete team members and ensure punch list items are taken care of. 
•    Prepare start up books for new project awards.
•    Create Project Schedules
•    CAD Work for Total Station to assist in building layout. 


Additional Administrative Tasks:

•    Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing materials.
•    Help maintain the LV yard/shop records. Input new equipment in CMiC and manage the check-in/check-out of equipment. Ensure all equipment is on a maintenance schedule and the maintenance schedules are being followed. 
•    E port cost projections
•    Purchase vendors for new projects 
•    Run smaller size LV projects as a PM


Qualifications
•    BS degree in Construction Technology, Engineering or other related disciplines, or related experience in the construction industry.
•    Familiarity with Sage Estimating, eTakeoff, Bluebeam, Procure, and CMiC is a plus.
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office Software Systems, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. 
•    Strong writing, editing, proofreading, spelling, and grammar for creating daily correspondence and standard documents pertaining to the job. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
•    Ability to work at heights greater than 6 feet above ground level. 
•    Have a valid driver license and ability to travel, stay out of town and/or relocate. 
•    Ability to work on multiple projects and work additional hours as needed to meet business goals. 


Work Conditions:
Work conditions are primarily a controlled office environment. Some project assignments may be onsite, which may be a job trailer environment. Physical ability to lift and transport drawings and files.


Physical Requirements: 
In a normal day, the employee must be able to sit and walk for 7+ hours and stand for 4-6 hours.  In a normal day, the employee must be able to drive 1-4 hours. Employee must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. maximum; frequently lift/carry up to 25 lbs.  The employee must be able to use his/her upper extremities for repetitive simple grasping, pushing/pulling, and fine manipulation. In this position, employee occasionally (0-33%) climb (including ladders, kneel, and/or crawl.  In this position, employee frequently (34-66%) squat at knees, reach above shoulders and use feet (foot controls). In this position, employee continuously (67-100%) bend at waist, and work at heights above 6 feet.
